Argyll and Bute Council is developing a draft visitor levy scheme to benefit the area’s visitor economy. The draft scheme will undergo a 12-week formal consultation process, expected from mid-Jan 2025.
The proposed levy will be a 5% percentage-based fee, capped at 7 nights, on the accommodation cost for all overnight stays in hotels, hostels, guest houses, self-catering units, campsites, caravans, or vessels primarily located in one place. The funds raised will be reinvested to support the scheme’s goals.
