2 Workshops with artist Emma Henderson:
7 February 10am-2pm Natural Inks & Screen Printing Workshop. In this experimental, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to turn natural materials into colour and transform them into inks for printmaking. Focusing on screen printing on paper, we’ll use simple stencils to print and layer colour, exploring the unique possibilities of natural inks. You’ll also experiment with natural modifiers that alter the pH of the inks, shifting hues and expanding the colour palette in unexpected and exciting ways. This workshop places an emphasis on exploration and process rather than finished outcomes. Working with natural materials encourages more circular, resourceful, and intuitive ways of making. While you may not leave with a gallery-ready artwork, you will gain the knowledge and confidence to continue developing your experiments in your own time. £65, Book Online at https://www.emmahenderson.studio/collections/workshops/products/screen-printing-with-natural-dyes-7-february
7 March 10am-2pm Mordant Printing with natural colour Natural dyeing and printmaking come together in this in-depth, hands-on introduction to mordant printing using natural materials. A mordant is a naturally occurring mineral that helps fix natural dyes to cloth. In this workshop, you’ll work with two different types of mordant, applying them to fabric using blocks, stencils, brushes, and silk screen techniques. Once the cloth is immersed in the dye bath, your printed designs will be revealed through subtle shifts in colour and pattern. The session begins with a detailed introduction to natural dyeing and mordanting, followed by a practical demonstration on mixing and preparing mordant pastes. You’ll then have time to experiment, choosing from a range of techniques to print your own designs onto cloth. We’ll also cover the wider dyeing process, including preparing fabric for dyeing and setting up dye pots. While the cloth is in the dye bath, we’ll take a guided walk around the site to identify local dye plants and discuss how they can be used in future dyeing experiments. This offers a chance to deepen your understanding of natural colour beyond the workshop itself. £65, Book Online at https://www.emmahenderson.studio/collections/workshops/products/mordant-printing-with-natural-dyes-saturday-7-march

Soulwind Women’s Harmony Singing Circle
To start off a monthly sing at the Bridge, and to brighten up this grey month Ali is holding a Free taster on Saturday 14th February ~ 2pm to 4.30pm. No experience needed, come along and try it.
In Soulwind the focus is on the experience of singing together, deep listening and becoming one through the song.
Ali leads songs by ear, often about the land, peace, love and hope – all in three part harmony. Soulwind is about the experience of singing in the moment, not preparing for something or someone else, it is this circle of women singing together in this moment.

A gritty, comedic drama with a nostalgic yet rebellious tone. Fans of Still Game or Rab C Nesbit will appreciate this heartfelt exploration of family and tradition.
Two Tribes is a sharp, funny, and poignant look at family, loyalty, and the iconic Celtic-Rangers football rivalry in1980s Glasgow. Written by local playwright Alan Brady, this comedy-drama dives into the lives of the McCannfamily, where football fanatic and Elvis devotee Archie and his wife, Rita, are preparing for the double wedding of their two daughters. With tensions mounting over wedding plans, money troubles, and clashing dreams, Two Tribes explores the powerful pull of family bonds amid life’s upheavals.

SATURDAY 21ST MARCH – 7-10PM – DEADLY ACTS THEATRE PRESENTS – THE BACK ROOM
Join us at Cove Burgh Hall for a night of murder and intrigue.
Let us take you back to New York City 1923… The inhabitants have not taken well to the act of Prohibition. The supply of liquor has gone underground, and criminals capitalise on its trade. At one particular speakeasy a select few have gathered for an important meeting but after a long day of violence and extortion tempers are high and that can only lead to one thing…..MURDER!!!
The event is not suitable for children (under 16 years of age). Please note the performance may contain foul language, adult content and some mild violence.
Guests will be working in teams at their table to solve the mystery. You are encouraged to form a team of 6 to 8, but everyone is welcome and can join others. Dressing up is encouraged (but not essential).
Ticket Price: £15 AVAILABLE SOON Free for Gold Members
FRIDAY 24TH APRIL 7.30-10PM- CATERAN
Cateran are a Scottish band, playing their own blend of Country, Americana and Folk influenced music.
The band is comprised of a group of seasoned musicians and friends who had previously played in many different bands and in many guises.

SUNDAY 3RD MAY – PIPPA REID FOSTER – 2-4PM
Contemporary Harpist from the west coast of Scotland. A performer, teacher and composer of the harp. Sharing music which feeds the mind and soul. Even though her instrument, the Clarsach (lever harp), is regarded traditionally Scottish, her technique incorporates electronic looping, effects, and field recordings. Focusing on contemporary music with strong minimalist elements.
SATURDAY 23RD MAY – PATRICIA HARTSHORNE – WITH A BIT OF A SWAGGER – 7.30-10PM
In 2024 Patricia published her memoir, ‘with a bit of a SWAGGER’, which is about her origins and adventures as a performer. She asks how an ex-convent schoolgirl came to be swaggering around an intimate off-West End theatre as Marlene Dietrich, flaunting her French knickers and suspenders – on a Good Friday? Her show, WITH A BIT OF A SWAGGER, is based on the book and this year she’ll be taking it to venues in the north, including Scotland

Andrew Barr: How to Map a Country 25th September, 2025 at 7:30pm
Writer and artist Andrew Redmond Barr presents The Atlas of Scotland, a creative project that uses hand drawn maps and illustrations to tell Scotland’s story, inviting us to reconnect with where we came from. The Atlas explores in detail how Scotland was made, its history, culture and its long standing as one of the ancient kingdoms of Europe. Taking you far beyond Scotland, it also delves into old European trade routes of Scottish merchants, the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition and much more.

Louis Hall: Horseback in the Ligurian Alps 23rd October, 2025 at 7:30pm
Louis Hall is a writer, rider and explorer from Fife. In 2022 he and his Arabian horse, Sasha, set off from Siena, Italy heading West. What was intended to be a charity journey to the Atlantic Ocean, destination Cape Finisterre, became the challenge of a lifetime with the crossing of the Ligurian Alps as the defining moment of this ambitious trek to ‘the end of the land.’ Battling snowstorms, injury, untamed trails, wolves and freezing cold the journey pushed Louis and his horse to their limits. Louis shares this story in his debut book In Green, an awe-inspiring tale of adventure, grit and the deep bond between man, horse, and nature.

Geologist Luisa spends her time sharing this world in an understandable way through social media platforms and her geology tour company. Her passion, enthusiasm and commitment to inspiring the next generation of engineers and geologists has had a significant impact within the geotechnical industry, and across wider communities.

Adult workshop – Painting with Plants Sat 28 Feb 2026 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
In this hands-on workshop, artist and staff member Emma Henderson will introduce you to painting with colour extracted from plants. You’ll learn simple methods for drawing pigment from natural materials and turning them into watercolour paints.
We’ll also experiment with shifting colour by changing the pH of the paint. Many natural pigments respond dramatically to acids and alkalis, allowing a surprising range of colours to be created from a single plant.
This session combines practical making with playful experimentation, offering a gentle introduction to plant-based colour and natural pigments. This workshop is designed for adults. All materials will be provided and no prior experience is needed.

Event Details
Winner of the MG Alba Composer of the Year Award, Findlay Napier is widely regarded as one of the finest performers on the UK music scene. He is as comfortable on the main Stage of Cambridge Folk Festival with folk rock supergroup The Magpie Arc as he is in an intimate acoustic show in the back room of a pub. This fact was further highlighted when Napier was the first solo act ever to be nominated for Live Act of the Year at the Scot’s Trad Music awards in 2018. Tirelessly creative he has been touring and releasing music since the early naughties. First with groundbreaking trad folk band Back of the Moon, then with Nu-Folk pioneers Findlay Napier and the Bar Room Mountaineers and most recently as a solo act working under the guidance of legendary songwriter Boo Hewerdine. In 2025 he was chosen, alongside Kate Rusby and Richard Thompson, to compose an original song for BBC Radio 2’s “21st Century Folk”. He performed his song “Firecracker” on live on The Jeremy Vine Show and BBC Radio 4’s Front Row.
Findlay lives on the Isle of Arran with his family. His latest album ‘Outsider’ was released in April 2025 as a CD and an incredible 154 page coffee table book featuring augmented reality content.

Featuring five vocalists and with influences including the Eagles; Crosby Stills Nash & Young and Runrig, to name but a few, their sound features warm, close, blended harmonies, which underpin their melodic but meaningful song-writing style.

Helensburgh Music Society presents a series of 5 concerts each year, between October and March, in the form of performances by Professional Ensembles or Solo Recitals. Our concerts, in the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre on Clyde Street, Helensburgh, are open to everyone. An evening out listening to beautiful music, and a chance to meet friends over an interval drink. Ticket prices are low, especially the season ticket. We encourage performers to talk to the audiences, introducing both themselves and the pieces of music they are playing, expanding on the programme notes so adding to the accessibility of the music. Each year the programme we present, features a variety of performers and instrumental combinations. We also include repertoire ranging from early music to established classical works as well as modern compositions and Jazz. Performers include Scottish based musicians as well as international musicians and ensembles, all of the very highest calibre. It is also an important aim of HMS to offer opportunities to outstanding young artists, especially those based in Scotland.

Luisa Hendry: The Geology of Scotland 27th November, 2025 at 7:30pm
Scotland offers some incredible landscapes, where the rocks reveal a complicated geological history; you can walk along a beach over lovely banded pink, grey and dark grey rocks that are up to three billion years old. Geologist Luisa spends her time sharing this world in an understandable way through social media platforms and her geology tour company. Her passion, enthusiasm and commitment to inspiring the next generation of engineers and geologists has had a significant impact within the geotechnical industry, and across wider communities.

Featuring five vocalists and with influences including the Eagles; Crosby Stills Nash & Young and Runrig, to name but a few, their sound features warm, close, blended harmonies, which underpin their melodic but meaningful song-writing style.

Featuring five vocalists and with influences including the Eagles; Crosby Stills Nash & Young and Runrig, to name but a few, their sound features warm, close, blended harmonies, which underpin their melodic but meaningful song-writing style.

Jack Docherty is Chief Commissioner Cameron Miekelson – your Chief, our Chief, The People’s Chief! As seen on BBC Scotland’s Scot Squad and The Chief, this national hero will be bringing his wit and wisdom (and let’s be honest, his still simmering good-looks) to a theatre near you.
You may have seen The Chief’s ‘Apology sketch’ – a viral sensation, racking up more than 80 million views – well now’s your chance to see The Chief live in his critically acclaimed, sell-out show, No Apologies. The show will feature your favourite sketches from Scot Squad and lots of hilarious new jokes as The Chief dissects the state of the nation, from politics to policing, football to families, bams to biscuits.
The Chief will also read excerpts from his forthcoming best-selling memoir, No Apologies, a book that tells his unique personal story of how a white, middle-class, public school educated boy from Edinburgh somehow overcame all the odds to become the Chief Commissioner of The Scottish Police Force.
This is sure to be the theatrical event of this, or any other, year. Don’t miss out!

Swim in Loch Lomond and then enjoy a MTB spin and mixed terrain run round Balloch Country Park. There are 3 options to choose from ‘The Wee Beastie’, ‘The Bikeless Beastie’ and the main event ‘The Beastie’:
The Beastie comprises a 750m swim in the Loch, 17k off road cycle (three big laps) and 5k run (two laps), finishing in front of the castle, sounds a lot easier than reality and a challenge for even the most experienced of triathletes.
The Wee Beastie a 400m swim in the Loch, 9k off road cycle (two smaller laps) and a 3km run (one lap). A proper wee toughie and a great way to start of before taking on the full Beastie another time, still a great achievement and not to be taken lightly.
The Bikeless Beastie Aquathon a 750m swim and 5k run (two laps), this year it is the Scottish Aquathon Championship.
