Golf in Helensburgh & Lomond
Many people consider that Scotland is the home of golf, with over 500 courses across the country. There are currently 4 courses in Helensburgh and Lomond, 3 of which are open to the public.
Helensburgh Golf Club dates back to 1893 when a 9 hole course was established, growing to 18 holes in 1905. The par 69 course is 6,104 yards, and its location on the moorland above Helensburgh provides stunning views over the Clyde. There is a clubhouse and shop, and visitors are welcome, with online Tee Time booking available. The Club also offers a ‘Get into Golf’ package for those new to the game.

Cardross Golf Club was founded in 1895, and the current layout reflects changes recommended by James Braid in 1921. The parkland course is 6,450 yards (par 71), and benefits from Clyde views. There is a clubhouse and shop, and visitors are welcome, with online Tee Time booking available.

Loch Lomond Golf Club (Private Members Only)was established in 1993, and boasts a 7,100 yard par 72 course designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. It hosted the Scottish Open, a PGA European Tour level event, from 2001-2010. The Clubhouse is Rossdhu Mansion, a Georgian Manor house completed for Sir James Colquhoun in 1773.

The Carrick Golf Course is part of the 5 star Cameron House Hotel facilities. The par 71, 7,082 yard course has hosted the Ladies Scottish Open and PGA Cup amongst other events. Tee times can be booked by calling the Golf Shop on 01389 727 679, and Membership, Tuition, and Golf Experience Days are also available. There is also the Carrick Spa onsite, including a rooftop infinity pool.
